Insurance matters used to be an affair of trust and personal relationships. I know my father and my gradnfather both were customers with the same, single insurance company, and the insurer knew all about their needs and made proposals that were win-win affairs.
Today, this is unfortunately not so anymore...
Agents work with the insurance companies that pay them most. That means for the customer, he will be sold what brings the highest commission to the agent, and not in all cases will you end up with an insurace coverage that really meets all your needs. It takes usually just a few clicks to find out what options the different insurance companies offer, and from there it's a phone call or a few more clicks until you can get in touch with the insurance agents of your choice.
